I live in a city in Mindanao. Davao is in Mindanao. Cotabato is in Mindanao. Just this afternoon at 5pm, a bomb rocked the Davao International Airport. The place may be far from where I am situated but you feel the anguish and pain that violence brings. This violence thing is getting out of hand. The recent violence doesnt really bring a great picture of what Mindanao is going through. This maybe isolated cases but sad to say, we are affected.... I always ask this question to myself "when will this all end?" ... there is always something going on with some connection with force and violence. The recent news really brings a sad feeling that things will not prosper in the next 10 years unless something has to be done to finish this up.
The rebels claim they are fighting for a cause but why would they sacrifice lives of innocent civilians ... children, women and the elders ... what is this "fighting for a cause" all about? does this require the death of hundreds of innocent people who in fact don't give a damn about what they are fighting for? is this the kind of "cause" they want to project to the world? Ang gulo ... it never stops ... if you ask me personally -- "I am sick and tired of all these shit" Just when you start feeling that things are going on quite alright, something would turn your world upside down. I am not speaking for anybody else but rather I am speaking of what I feel about all these chaos and violence. It's like we are in a time warp. We'v fallen back. In an age where we've gone to the moon, found alternative energy resources, built cars, flown in the sky, we have come to this??!!
The ongoing war in Central Mindanao is not getting any better ... families are displaced, people are caught in the crossfire ... and the irony of it all ... this is for long-lasting peace in the land ... hahahaha ... funny but true. I somehow agree to one insight my friend shared the other day. He said that violence/war would eventually wipe out the whole of human race and from there, we can start anew ... build a world again from scratch and depend more on what nature can provide. Is violence/war always the solution to a lasting peace? Come one .... I am confused here ... help me out.
